Extremely low cost performance is its biggest weakness of the tradiational large-detector technology. In addition, the increase of scanning volume reduces the image quality and radiation safety.
Traditional fusion technology requires multiple patient scans to generate large-FOV CBCT, at the cost of scan time increase by a factor of 4, and radiation dose increase by a factor of 2.
The small FOV indicates its market positioning of low performance and low price, which significantly limits its clinical applications. In addition, the traditional 3-in-1 technology requires multiple positioning of patients, at the cost of increased operational complexity and imaging time.
